This is the recipe County Line Kitchen publishes for this brewer, and it is what Cold Brew Studio opens with when you pick it. It makes about 6¾ cups, best straight over ice.

How the maker does it

Official manual: 'Add coffee to the filter basket... Pour water over the coffee grounds to fill the jar... Leave the coffee maker to steep 12 to 24 hours at room temperature or 24 to 48 hours in the refrigerator.' Coarse grind ('set the grinder to the coarsest setting'). Sizing tip: 'It will take approximately two cups of grounds to fill the two quart brewer and one cup to fill the one quart brewer... Filling the basket as above will create a coffee concentrate that can then be diluted with water or milk. If you do not wish to make a concentrate, use half as much coffee grounds.' Dilution: 'Hot Coffee - Dilute your cold brewed coffee 1:1 with boiling water. Iced Coffee - Fill a glass with ice, pour your cold brewed coffee over the ice, add milk and sugar to taste' (no further dilution for iced). Coffee_g (160g = ~2 cups) is an approximate volume-to-weight conversion, not a manufacturer-stated gram figure.

The recipe, by strength

Each one fills this brewer as far as it honestly goes. Numbers are for a light roast steeping in the fridge.

If your beans are darker

Darker roasts give up their flavor faster, so they brew at a slightly wider ratio and steep for less time.

How it goes

  1. Grounds in the basket.
  2. Water over, slowly.
  3. Stir once.
  4. Lid on, into the fridge.

Grind coarse, about the size of coarse sea salt. Find the number for your grinder.

Good to know

Stainless steel mesh filter (not paper) lets more body/fine sediment through than a paper filter. Manual treats the standard fill (about 2 cups grounds per 64oz water) as a concentrate meant to be drunk over ice as-is, or cut 1:1 with hot water for hot coffee; use half the grounds instead if you want one strength for both. Otherwise standard coarse-grind immersion steeping applies.

This brewer takes about 170 g of coffee at most. Stronger recipes can’t add more grounds, so they use less water instead. That is why every strength comes in under the full 1,893 mL.
