This is the recipe OXO publishes for this brewer, and it is what Cold Brew Studio opens with when you pick it. It makes about 5¼ cups, best mixed 1:1 with water or milk.

How the maker does it

OXO's printed instruction manual: add 10 oz/284g of coarsely ground coffee to the brewing container, place the perforated 'Rainmaker' disc on top, then pour 40 oz/1200mL (5 cups) of cold or room-temperature water around the Rainmaker so it diffuses evenly over the grounds. Brew on the counter 12-24 hours. Flip the brew-release switch to drain concentrate into the graduated glass carafe (yields 24-28 oz concentrate, 12-14 drinks). Recommended dilution: 1 part concentrate to 2-3 parts water or milk (e.g., 2 oz/60mL concentrate + 4-6 oz/120-180mL water or milk). OXO paper filters can be added for a secondary level of filtration if a clearer cup is wanted. (OXO's tea variant of the same maker: 16g loose leaf tea or 8 bags with 32 oz/950mL water, 5-12h steep.)

The recipe, by strength

Each one fills this brewer as far as it honestly goes. Numbers are for a light roast steeping in the fridge.

If your beans are darker

Darker roasts give up their flavor faster, so they brew at a slightly wider ratio and steep for less time.

Good to know

Water is poured through a perforated 'Rainmaker' disc that diffuses the pour evenly across the grounds bed to prevent channeling, then drains through a built-in mesh filter cap. Coarse grind is recommended; OXO sells add-on paper filters for a secondary filtration pass if you want a cleaner, less sedimenty cup — otherwise it's a standard immersion steep.
